WELDER
Production (Fabrication)

The primary function of ‘Welder’ is to operate manual and automated welding units and equipment to fabricate, repair and maintain, identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety.

Roles and responsibilities:

Possess required welding qualification and understanding of plans and requirements for each task.

Cut and generally prepare required metal/shapes and weld according to structure plans.

Carry out skilled fabrication (new or replacement) and all position welding work using a variety of processes use grinder to smooth and clean as appropriately prior to and after welding.

Effectively operate manual and automated welding units and equipment to fabricate, repair and maintain identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety.

Clean and maintain all equipment and tools and maintain a clean working area and carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract requirements organise all supplies (materials, tools and equipment) required, liaising with appropriate parties.

Carry out tasks within specified time limits, adhere to policies and procedures, ensure compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations and insert as applicable.

From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role and responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Fabrication Lead.

You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.

Qualifications:
-
Diploma in Fabrication and Welding.
-
Minimum 1–3 years experience as Welder.
-
Minimum 2 ‘O’ Level.
-
Certified Welder.
-
Certificate in Welding with 3G or 6G.
-
Commitment to occupational health and safety, especially practices work safety in an operational workshop.
